While all research is customized, a common methodology is used on many projects. We start by understanding your research needs and suggesting possible approaches. We end by presenting research results “on point” to your goals. We adhere to the Code of Business Ethics of the Association of Independent Information Professionals. All research is confidential.
Scoping
We will work closely with you to understand what you already know and what is the most important information for you to find. Before starting the research we discuss key concepts, sources, geographic focus, known competitors, and your budget and timeframe.
Published Sources
Most projects start with a review of published information. Our access to a wide variety of market and business resources is key to creating niche Market Views.
Additional Expertise
To bring in specialized skills and expertise, On Point Research often collaborates with colleagues who have subject expertise (e.g. software or medical devices), or specialized research skills (e.g. telephone surveys or database development). For Market Views that require business feasibility analysis, we often use the services of a business development firm. All colleagues and subcontractors sign non-disclosure agreements with On Point Research and your research requests are always confidential.
Deliverables
Research results may be delivered as a printed/emailed report, or a slide deck presentation, often with a conference call summary. Most of our reports start with an Executive Summary to guide the reader through the results quickly.
